Hi, I use regex when editing text in ebooks (HTML) and DTP generally. I'm using WinXP SP3, regex-coach 0.92. I often need to search/replace characters like em and en dashes, curly quotes, etc. In the regex-coach gui these characters all show up as black squares. I assume this is due to the font. I see no way to choose the display font to something more versatile. Can this be done? I notice this mailing list seems to be dormant. Nothing except one spam message in the last 6 years.

[regex-coach] PHP PCRE regexp predefined class issue

hello every one and before anything else "viele danke" to mr Weitz for this very usefull tool Ihave just a question it seems that I couldnt use the predefined class like *[:alnum:] *( http://fr2.php.net/manual/en/regexp.reference.character-classes.php) existing in PHP PCRE I guess it's not aviable in PHP and probably not in CL_PPCRE did you already noticed this ? it's a bit confusing to change always between php code and regex coatch do you think there is a solution for me to modify the coatch or something else ? thank's for you help sorry for my bad english and my german try :) -- --- Olivier GASTÉ

[regex-coach] Regex Coach \K option fails?

From the PCRE docs: The escape sequence \K causes any previously matched characters not to be included in the final matched sequence. For example, the pattern: foo\Kbar matches "foobar", but reports that it has matched "bar". http://www.pcre.org/pcre.txt This fails in The Regex Coach. Why? Thanks

[regex-coach] Need a Regex to return multi result if matching more than one times

Hi all, I want a regex used in Perl which is @ret = $query =~ /(googl.?)|(.?oogle)/; if the $query is "google", then will be matched, and the @ret = (google, undef), $1 = "google", $2 is undef but I want result like @ret = (google, google), because the pattern "(.?oogle)" is matched too, And my regex is very long (the regex above is just an example), maybe thouands of "|", so if separate the regex to /(googl.?)/ and /(.?oogle)/ will be inefficient. Does anybody can help me? Thanks!

[regex-coach] Suggestion: Alternation of Color

The first match is yellow. The second green. All following matches are green as well. Suggestion: It would be easier to distinguish the matches, if the color alternates. First yellow. Second green. Third yellow. ... Regards, Andreas

RegEx Coach does not display a symbol (e.g. like the U+00B6) to represent linebreaks. I like to use RegEx Coach with multiple line target strings. Is there any to view matched linebreaks? Example: http://borumat.de/+screenshots/hc-2011.05.12-09_30_25.png Thanks. It would be great, if other whitespaces like "\t" would be represented by a symbol as well. [regex-coach] An error of type #:|<Dummy Symbol Name>| occured - solution

Is it not always the way? Five minutes after I posted my previous question in desperation I found the registry entry which holds the persistent data. In case anyone else gets this problem, this is created the first time you exit the product with data in the panes, but is not being removed on an uninstall. The key is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Edi Weitz\The Regex Coach I uninstalled the product, removed the key (using regedit), reinstalled, and everything was fine. I could probably have just removed the 'Panes' sub-key without reinstalling the product.
