[toronto-lisp] meeting dates

I completely missed the discussion that set the first Thursday of the month to be the Toronto Lisp User Group meeting date, so I don't know if my question is ridiculous (e.g. akin to arguing about editors): Is it possible to consider another day for the regular meetings? I have a conflict with the first Thursday of the month (Royal Astronomical Society meetings on the first Thursday). Other Thursdays are good, and Tuesdays are good for me. If the day can't be changed, then I will simply have to choose to skip some meetings, when I wish to attend the RASC meetings. pt

If the meetings are moved, I'd rather not have them be on the second Thursday of each month--this would conflict with Toronto Erlounges. Justin On Fri, Oct 3, 2008 at 11:13 AM, Paul Tarvydas <tarvydas@visualframeworksinc.com> wrote:

I would really prefer to not have thursday meetings at all. Perl Mongers is set on Thursdays and it really eats up thursdays. The Rest of the Week other than friday saturday sunday is fine for me. abram On Fri, 3 Oct 2008, Paul Tarvydas wrote:

I'd prefer Tuesdays or Thursdays, ideally ones that don't conflict with the Ruby/Rails TSOT night (second Tuesday) -- but, like Paul, I can choose which to attend. Of course, since I've not managed to attend yet, I don't have a very loud voice in this :-) Cheers, Bob

I'm good for Tuesdays after December. Nov 4 I may be good for, I'll have to check. We had this problem with scheduling before and the deal was basically pick a day that allows the most people to come and it's just too bad for others if they can't make it. It sounds a bit callous perhaps but it's the same with other meetups I think. -Rudolf 2008/10/14 Justin Giancola <justin.giancola@gmail.com>

Yep, it's on. I updated the wiki at ALU to reflect this. Unforuntately I can't make it, I have an evening class at Ryerson. It's on New Media stuff, the cool thing is that they're teaching Processing. Too bad the language is based on Java and yet isn't fully OO (there are no line objects, just functions for drawing lines). Could someone take notes or could everyone send an email to the list a day or two after the meetup about what was discussed? -Rudolf
