Owner/moderator needed for phemlock mailing lists

Hi, The phemlock-*(a)common-lisp.net mailing lists need a new owner/moderator; the current owner's mail address (gbaumann(a)common-lisp.net) has disappeared (probably due to lack of a forwarding address). If there are no volunteers, that's no problem. I'll remove the mailing lists (but not the archives): they haven't had traffic since 2014. Phantom gitlab.common-lisp.net account

Hi Admins, There is a gitlab.common-lisp.net account with my name (https://gitlab.common-lisp.net/msimmons) but I have no record of creating it. Possibly it was created by default because I had a common-lisp.net SSH CVS login for :ext:msimmons@common-lisp.net:/project/slime/cvsroot in 2004 associated with Xanalys (the previous owner of the LispWorks product). Assuming this account doesn't belong to anyone else, please consider changing its email address to the email address of this message so I can reset the password and comment on merge requests. __Martin p.s. Update gitlab asap?

I went to https://gitlab.common-lisp.net/help and it says this is version 12.5.2 and "update asap" in a red box. Thought someone might want to take a look to see if really seems to be as urgent as the red box might imply. -- Ray

Don't update site on branches, but still see the results?

Currently, cmucl-site generates the site on any branch. This also means that any in-progress branch modifies the official site. I think this should only happen for the main branch (or some other official branch). For other branches, I want it uploaded so I can see the results, but doesn't update the official site. Any ideas on this? Will staging areas work? What about gitlab environments? -- Ray

Deploying gitlab pages site from a new project?

I previously deployed cmucl-site using gitlab pages. This went pretty well using the instructions at https://common-lisp.net/faq/using-gitlab-deploy-project-pages However, now I want to deploy a newly created project, https://gitlab.common-lisp.net/rtoy/maxima-site I set up the .gitlab-ci.yml site to deploy pages and everything seems to be working. I basically used the file that I used for cmucl-site. However, I can't figure out what url to use to find the generated site. I thought it would be gitlab.common-lisp.net/project/maxima or maybe gitlab.common-lisp.net/Raymond%20Toy/, but none of these work (404). I need some help here to figure out where all these things go.... -- Ray

Upgrading our host to Debian Buster

Hi, It's been announced that Debian Buster will be released in the beginning of July. While there's no immediate hurry to upgrade, there's definitely one good reason to start working on an upgrade: Python 2 will be completely decommissioned in 2020 and our mailing list infrastructure runs on Mailman 2 which runs on Python 2. Debian Buster includes the new Mailman (Mailman 3) -- which runs on Python 3. Mailman 3 isn't just an upgrade to Python3, but a complete re-architected Mailman. Mailman consists of 4 independent applications in version 3. One of those is the mailing list archive manager. Since we'll need to migrate our old mailing list archives to this new infrastructure (and preferably keep the URLs stable), the migration may be quite a bit of work to prepare. So, I'm looking for people who can help out: find out which *exact* steps we have to go through to get minimal downtime on an upgrade and get back to a stably running system on return. Comments?
