Problem moving items in a canvas

Hi! I am an astronomy teacher, and I'm preparing a program to analyze stellar spectra with my pupils. It's going on well (I think!), but I have a strange problem that I can't solve by myself. The principal code is in "espectro-visual.lisp" ("fits.lisp" is a kind of little 'library' to open fits image files, an astronomical standard; you can visualize them with programs like "SaoImage DS9"). You run the program with '(espectro-visual)'. To reproduce the problem I think I'd better guide you step by step: 1) You click in 'Create profile..." and choose 'solar-spectrum.fit' (you can download this file (~1MB) from http://www.astro.cnba.uba.ar/solar-spectrum.fit). 2) Then you move over the profile, and -pressing the mouse right-button- move a dozen or so pixels left or right and release the button: you'll see a line and a number under the 'barycenter' of the zone (astronomically, you should choose an spectral line (one of those 'valleys' here and there), but that doesn't matter now). 3) If you press the mouse left-button over the number created, you can move it around the canvas (I want to be able to do it, to avoid the 'cluttering' of labels). Now, the problem: As soon as I leave the canvas with the mouse, if I re-enter the canvas I'm no longer able to move the labels again! I can do it with new labels, but if I leave the canvas the problem applies to them too. Thank you very much, and please excuse me if I didn't explain myself very well. Luis López

Hi Jason, :filetypes nil did the trick! I am running OS X 10.10.5 and 'which wish‘ leads /usr/bin/wish so i guess it is the version coming with the system. I havn’t installed anything using homebrew. You are of course totally right regarding *. It failed from time to time but than worked perfect again. I guess that’s a pretty noob error I ran into here. Thanks for your help! Filetypes in get-open-file

Hi, I am trying a create a little gui using ltk which has an open file button using get-open-file. It works fine besides the fact that I cannot select any file. I played around with the filetypes keyword but could not get it running and could not find anything in the net so far which helped me. I actually do not care about the filetype at all. I have installed ltk via quicklisp on OS X using sbcl. (defun test () (ltk:with-ltk () (let* ((datei (make-instance 'ltk:button :master nil :text "Datei" :command (lambda () (print (ltk:get-open-file :filetypes '(("All Files" "*")) :title "Open")))))) (ltk:wm-title ltk:*tk* "Test") (ltk:pack datei)))) I get a nice button, the open file dialog opens but all file in the current directory are gray and not selectable. What am I missing? If I choose :filetypes * it works but that’s very different from what I have expected. Thanks for any advice Martin

Remove canvas shapes by tag?

Hello all, new to the list (hopefully this has not been asked) I've created a global canvas called *main-canvas* and have attached a few shapes to it. (create-line* *main-canvas* `(,x ,y ,x2 ,y2) :tags "line") Am I specifying the tag correctly for the new line instance or does it need to be in a list? Also, how would I tell a canvas to remove all and only items with the "line" tag attached? Sincerely, Ryan

button scale and font

When I try to set the font on a button, which is specified as a valid keyword arg in the docs, I get the following error: Invalid initialization argument: :FONT I don't necessarily need to do anything fancy with the font in said button, but it's default size and font are very small even on a regular monitor, and my monitor is high-res, making it quite tiny. For every other component i can just scale with fonts, but it doesn't seem to work with buttons. While searching for solutions, I found this: https://mailman.common-lisp.net/pipermail/ltk-user/2011-August/000477.html It makes reference to setting an older version of wish in order to scale components? If this functionality was truly just broken by an update back in 2011 and never fixed, I'd like to be able to help address the bug, but if I am just missing something, or there is a better way of making widgets big enough to read, please let me know! Hello, I'm toying around with ltk and trying a simple example. I want the entry widget to expand horizontally when you resize the window. Somehow I seem not to get it. Set-coords arc floating precision

Hello, My name is Nate. I have never participated in one of these lists before so I don't know the protocol so I apologize if this isn't the appropriate channel. I am working on an application where I need arrows on the end of arcs, which I am accomplishing by adding very small lines to the end points. However I think I have discovered that set-coords when used with an arc won't update the position unless the coordinates are integers which makes my approach impossible. Is there a workaround for this issue? Thank you, Nate

how to change button height? - from beginner

Hi, New to LTK, I just want to change the button height, but couldn’t. Doing it in (make-instance …), I got “Invalid initialization argument: :HEIGHT in call for class #<STANDARD-CLASS BUTTON>” error. Doing it in (configure b :height 10), then I got “Tcl/Tk error: unknown option “-height””. What’s the proper way to do it?
